Charleston County School of the Arts is a magnet school that blends intensive artistic instruction with an academic program for more than 900 students in grades six through 12. It offers daily instruction in major art areas and participation in the core curriculum that includes college preparatory, honors and advanced placement courses. It offers art majors in creative writing, dance, instrumental band, string orchestra, vocal music, piano, theatre and visual art. The school of arts is located in Charleston, S.C., and was founded in 1995. Its Web site offers newsletters, application forms and a wide range of student and parents resources.
