The Hospice of Rutherford County is a nonprofit organization licensed by the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. It is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Interfaith Caregivers Alliance and Carolinas Center for Hospice and End-of-life Care. Its hospice team includes a nurse, certified nursing assistant, social worker, trained volunteer, chaplain, bereavement coordinator and medical director. The center develops a plan of physical, emotional and spiritual care for the patient and provides instruction and support to the caregiver.
