Bertram Richter, MD, is an attending neurosurgeon at Prisma Health in Columbia and an assistant professor of surgery at the University of South Carolina. He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed a residency in neurosurgery and a fellowship in functional neurosurgery/neuromodulation at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh. He completed additional fellowship training in stereotactic radiosurgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and is a member of the Gamma Knife radiosurgery team at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Dr. Richter has been actively engaged in research and published numerous manuscripts and book chapters. He has a special interest in novel, less invasive approaches to complex spine surgery, pain disorders, and neurosurgical oncology with a focus in spinal oncology.
