Berea Elementary School provides educational programs to more than 750 students in grades kindergarten through five. Located in Greenville, S.C., the school offers studies in art, music, mathematics, science and social studies. The school facilities consist of more than 30 classrooms, a gymnasium, library, a science lab and a computer lab. The media center houses more than 7,000 books with a yearly circulation of 13,000 and subscribes to 20 periodicals for student and faculty use. The center has more than 10 networked computers for students to access card catalog, reading counts and the Internet. Its D.A.W.G.S. publishing center showcases students writing by encouraging and recognizing reluctant writers.
