Stone House is the newest addition to the Newport Experience collection of properties. Stone House is a seaside inn in the quaint, farming community of Little Compton, RI, sitting on 2.7 acres near the tip of Sakonnet Point. The original four-story building was constructed in 1854 as a private residence and was once home to David Sisson and his son, Henry Sisson, a civil war hero. It was converted to an inn during the 1920s and an old tap room remains in the basement that was once a speakeasy during the Prohibition. The property features spacious and well-appointed guest rooms and suites and beach access. There is also a renovated barn on the grounds that features guest rooms, a ground floor outdoor terrace and gorgeous water views.
