The Rhode Island Community Food Bank is a member of Feeding America The Nation's Food Bank Network, which is comprised of over 200 food banks and food-rescue programs throughout the country. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank is a member of Feeding America The Nation's Food Bank Network, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States. The mission of Feeding America is to create a hunger-free America. Feeding America distributes food and grocery products through a Nationwide Network of certified Members, increases public awareness of domestic hunger and advocates for policies that benefit America's hungry. The Feeding America Network is comprised of over 200 Member food banks and food-rescue programs serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Last year, the Feeding America Network provided food assistance to more than 25 million low-income hungry people in the United States, including more than 9 million children and nearly 3 million seniors. Feeding America supplies its network of Food Banks with more than 2 billion pounds of food and grocery product annually.
