The Providence Federation of Musicians on Park Avenue is a chapter of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 198-457. Since opening in 1902 the Providence Federation of Musicians has been promoting and protecting musicians by protecting their rights in the workplace, protecting their recorded works and lobbying to promote legislation and raise public awareness about the rights of artists. The staff at the Providence Federation of Musicians can also help to negotiate contracts and collective bargaining agreements with record labels, TV networks, radio and motion pictures. Members will have access to benefits such as a booking agent, assistance in gaining visas to perform in other countries, representation for all contract negotiations, an A.F.M. Master Card with special rates, equipment insurance, musician's liability insurance and a subscription to the International Musician, the official journal of the American Federation of Musicians.
