History
The idea for Little Sunshine Yoga came about a few months after the birth of my second child. As a full time mother and part time Occupational Therapist, I found yoga to be a great tool that really helped me improve how I feel, both physically and mentally. As an OT, I have used yoga with children before, however I wanted to learn more about the benefits and ways in which yoga could be introduced to children. I received my training in Radiant Child Yoga and fell in love with the fun ways in which I would be able to share yoga and its numerous benefits with children of all ages. With the fast paced world we live in and the increasing demands being put on children at school, I have found that yoga is a wonderful outlet. Yoga can increase their self-esteem, attention, and give them tools to use in their life to find their focus and peace within. Additionally, yoga helps children improve their gross motor skills, body awareness, and achieve balance. I love sharing yoga with children.
Specialties
Children's yoga classes that are designed specifically for children based on Radiant Child Yoga teachings. Yoga can increase your child's: flexibility, coordination, body awareness, attention, and self-esteem. Yoga classes include moving to music, playing yoga games, partner poses, breathing to calm and awaken our bodies, and using our imagination during yoga adventures. Classes include: Sunny Toddler Yoga (Walkers to Age 3), Peaceful Preschool Yoga (Ages 3-5), After School Yogis (Ages 6-9). Also available for: play groups, schools, and daycares. All classes can be adapted for a variety of ages and abilities.
