Blackstone Valley Chapter Rhode Island provides services and supports to persons with mental retardation and their families. It is operated by The Arc of Blackstone Valley, a private nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1955. The chapter offers skills training to persons with mental retardation and related disabilities and provides opportunities for the utilization of those skills in the community. It designs various programs to reduce the incidence and limit the consequence of mental retardation through education and advocacy, and the support of families, friends and communities. Its services and support programs are delivered as part of a customized planning process. Blackstone Valley Chapter Rhode Island operates from Paw Tucket, R.I.
