Hanscom is a leading manufacturer of twist ties, cohesive tape and cable ties. Its products are used in the electrical, medical and food industries. Started in the early 1950's because a neighbor identified a need to secure bundles of hangers in a dry cleaning business, the first wire tie was created. Since that time, Mr. Hanscom developed a machine that would tie the twists, and it is now called 'The Hanker.' The Hanscom's moved into the medical industry as well developing cohesive tape that is used to fasten medical tubing without sticking to the product.
