Established in 1975, Youth Advocate Programs is one of the largest, nonprofit youth and family support agencies in the United States. The agency operates in more than 15 U.S. states, including New Jersey, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Maryland and Ohio. It offers a truancy intervention program that serves schoolchildren who suffer from substance abuse and behavioral problems. Youth Advocate Programs provides parent support, counseling and legal services. The agency supports several gang intervention and prevention programs for youths between the ages of 10 and 18. It serves over 10,000 families per year, as well as maintains a work force of nearly 2,000 employees.
