Vocational Rehabilitation is a program that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to become productive and independent in their communities. It serves people between the ages of 16 and 64 with physical and mental disabilities. The program provides vocational training and rehabilitative services. Vocational Rehabilitation also serves people with visual impairments. It provides diagnostic services that include medical, psychological and audiological examinations. The program also conducts independent living skills and work adjustment training sessions. In addition, Vocational Rehabilitation offers physical and occupational therapy services and job placement assistance. It is located in New Castle, Pa., and is operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
