History
The Modern Cafe has been a staple on the North Side of Pittsburgh since 1933 when Prohibition was lifted. It is currently only on its third owner. January 1st of 2009 it suffered a devastating fire and was closed for sixteen months while it was completely renovated.

The Modern Cafe specializes in a warm friendly atmosphere to enjoy over 150 beers, award winning sandwiches and specialty burgers. This pub has been locally owned and operated since prohibition and continues to offer that neighborhood meeting place.
