Adjoining the township building and police station, the Southampton Free Library rounds out the township's municipal complex.
The library boasts a collection of over 80,000 cataloged items, ranging from periodicals and reference materials, to books, CDs and DVDs. The library has more than 190,000 patrons visit each year.
According to the library's statistics, approximately 63 percent of the Township's residents hold library cards. Library cards are free to all residents of Bucks County who can produce a picture ID proving residency. Loan periods are 21 days for most items, with a 2 time renewal policy. Rental books and movies can be borrowed for seven days and renewed once.
The library is a member of the Bucks County Library Network and materials from other participating Bucks County Libraries can be obtained for patrons by request.
The community meeting room, in the basement of the building, has recently been renovated. It has a kitchen, handicapped accessible restrooms and an outside entrance. This is where the township's Board of Supervisors meetings are held.
Plans for renovations to modernize and upgrade the main area of the library are currently in the works; this will be the first major improvement to the adult section since 1990.
