Solomon's United Church of Christ was founded in 1841 as a Union Church by the Reformed and Lutheran faiths and was first known as Solomon's Church of the German Lutheran and Reformed Congregations. Members laid their cornerstone August 1 of that year.
A merger of the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Churches in 1957 formed the United Church of Christ, at which time the congregation changed its name to the present-day Solomon's United Church of Christ.
The church has continued to grow with extensive renovation projects in 1939, 1977 and 1996.
Calling itself "the church on a mission," the congregation offers financial support and other assistance to programs including the Ecumenical Food Bank, Operation Warmth that provides food and blankets to the needy, fruit baskets for shut-ins and the elderly, the Phoebe Home, Neighbors in Need and Our Christian Wiser Mission.
The congregation also continues its mission in supporting youth participation by providing senior and junior youth groups within the church and was the charter organizer of Boy Scout Troop 71.
