History
For generations there has been a restaurant in the historic building at 104 North Main Street in Hughesville. Danny Thomas, Greg Sullivan and Vince Grieco, three friends that have been raised and live in this community came together to open the Silver Thorn Tavern. The name is historical and in reference to Rachel Silverthorn, a local woman who lived in the area during the Revolutionary War. She was the only one who volunteered to ride her horse into Hughesville to warn the first settlers of an impending attack. We wanted to honor our local history and the everyday heros who make living in a small community great!
