The Sierra Club is well-known for its tireless efforts to promote the wise use of natural resources and eco-systems from the grass roots level. It is this country's oldest and biggest organization dedicated to this mission, which is pursued through lobbying efforts at all levels of the government as well as educational activities for the general population.
The Sierra Club organized the Pennsylvania Chapter in 1970, which was divided into 10 groups, including the Southeastern Group. For a current overview of activities, hikes, committee member contact information and much more, log onto the website.
