History
Our records go back as far as 1894 when Renwick Rowan served the New Kensington community as the undertaker. Mr. Rowan's business was purchased by the late Frank L. Hankey and then he moved from Parnassus to Fifth Avenue and then to our current location of 217 Freeport Road in New Kensington in 1946. Two years later, Ross G. Walker Jr. was hired by W. Eugene Beck and served as his intern in a different funeral home known as Gordon & Beck Funeral Home located on Fourth St. in New Kensington. In 1963 Ross G. Walker Jr. purchased Hankey Memorial Home, and moved to 217 Freeport Rd., New Kensington, merging Hankey, Gordon & Beck Funeral Homes. In 1978 Ross G. Walker III joins the family business, starting as the intern and working his way to his current position as the President of The Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd. Since 1978, Ross G. Walker III has devoted 35 years of helping bereaved families through the toughest times of their lives, continuing his fathers legacy with dignity
