The Philadelphia Police Department is one of the five largest metropolitan police agencies in the United States and provides law enforcement services. It has more than 6,600 officers, over 405 patrol cars, nearly 115 emergency wagons and several auxiliary vehicles for police use. The department offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which provides classroom instruction to children about the dangers involved in using drugs.
