Citizens Planning Institute (CPI) is the education and outreach arm of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, dedicated to introducing Philadelphians to the activities of city planning, zoning, and development. Through an eight-week course offered every spring and fall, CPI empowers residents to shape and preserve their neighborhoods by providing them with essential skills and resources.
CPI's mission is to engage individuals who love their communities, regardless of their level of involvement, and equip them with practical tools to address neighborhood challenges on an equal footing with other stakeholders. By connecting participants with a network of Citizen Planners, CPI fosters collaboration and empowers residents to make a meaningful impact on planning issues in Philadelphia.
