Established in 1995, the Philadelphia Education Fund is an independent nonprofit organization that is focused on improving the quality of public education for underserved youth throughout Philadelphia. The organization works in collaboration with school districts, schools, businesses, universities, community stakeholders and other nonprofit organizations to create high-performance secondary schools that serves students in grades 6 through 12. The Philadelphia Education Fund also maintains strategic alliances to support student success from pre-kindergarten through college. It employs more than 35 staff members. The organization s programs address the areas of research, teaching, learning, and postsecondary access and success. The Philadelphia Education Fund supports and coordinates the Education First Compact, which is a diverse group of organizational representatives committed to improving public education in Philadelphia.
