Perry Tiberio, MD, PhD, is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician with AHN Medicine Institute, skilled at endobronchial ultrasound, pleural procedures, lung cancer, COPD, asthma, critical care, and interstitial lung disease.Dr. Tiberio earned his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by his M.D. and Ph.D. from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. His doctoral research centered on developing innovative vaccination delivery systems aimed at preventing the spread of HIV. He completed his residency at Yale University where he implemented an HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis clinical program. Most recently, Dr. Tiberio completed his fellowship at UPMC, where his research focused on sedation practices in critically ill, ventilated patients with a prior history of substance use disorder.Dr. Tiberio has authored numerous publications, received several teaching and research awards, and has presented his work at regional, national and international conferences.Dr. Tiberio is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.He is excited to join the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Allegheny Health Network, where he will continue to pursue his passion in medical education and his love for clinical care, with a particular interest in ICU delirium, sedation of ventilated patients, and post-ICU syndrome. Dr. Tiberio is looking forward to caring for adult patients throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.
