Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry employs more than 6,000 workers in over 200 offices statewide. Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa., the department has been operational for more than 80 years. L&I administers benefits to unemployed individuals, oversees the administration of workers' compensation benefits, and provides vocational rehabilitation to disabled people. The department also provides preparation solutions for job seekers, and employment and job training services for young adults, and older and dislocated workers. Additionally, it enforces various laws and safety standards in the workplace, and administers the Commonwealth's programs for community service. The department provides online information about hazardous substance surveys, wage applications, biweekly claim filings, payment modes, social services, labor law compliance, unemployment compensation, and new hire reporting services.
