Newtown Theatre is one the nation's oldest movie theatres. It is located in the heart of Newtown Borough on State Street and screens modern movies in a facility with plenty of old-time charm. Movie genres range from children's films, to comedies, drama, action and more. In addition to movies, the Newtown Arts Company performs plays at the theatre.

Alliance of Residence Theatre

The Alliance of Resident Theatres New York aims to support local theatre in a variety of capacities. Its South Oxford Street space serves as a central administrative and creative office space for 22 small and mid-size theatre companies. This space also rents its rehearsal studios, meeting rooms and a performance venue, The Great Room. Rental rates are available on its website.
