Founded in 1969, Martin Luther King High School is located in Philadelphia. The school provides educational services to more than 1,600 students in grades 9 through 12. Its general academic curriculum includes English, math, physics, chemistry, biology, economics and history. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, music, creative writing, and technical, health and physical education. Martin Luther King High School also conducts classes in engineering, environmental science and multicultural literature. The school supports a variety of sports activities, such as soccer, football, tennis, baseball, volleyball and cross country. It organizes various types of educational and cultural events that include concerts, musical programs and educational seminars. It provides special education programs to gifted and talented students. In addition, the school offers the English Speakers of Other Languages program. Martin Luther King High School is a part of the School District of Philadelphia.
