Founded in 1812, the Manheim Fire Department works to provide protection services in an area of more than 45 square miles. The volunteer department offers a range of fire prevention and suppression services. It has a fleet of truck, tanker, engines, and rescue and command vehicles. The Manheim Fire Department also supports several fire safety and junior firefighter programs for community members. The department manages a fire museum that houses antique apparatus, pictures, helmets and parade uniforms. In addition, it responds during environmental emergency situations. The Manheim Fire Department serves the residents of Manheim Borough, Lancaster County, and Penn and Rapho townships in Pennsylvania.
