Eric A Weisman, MD
Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Weisman has more than 30 years of experience in the care and treatment of patients suffering with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. He has subspecialty certifications in behavioral neurology and in neuropsychiatry and is the director of the Memory Disorders Clinic for Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Neuroscience Institute. After earning his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, Dr. Weisman completed his neurology residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile. He gained additional experience and training while finishing a fellowship in behavioral neurology at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Weisman has previously supervised clinics for advanced treatment of Huntington’s disease, Asperger Syndrome, Diffuse Lewy body disease, Binswangers dementia, fronto-temporal dementia, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. His specializations also include aphasia, non-dominant hemispheric syndromes, frontal executive dysfunction and attentional disorders, learning disabilities, neurorehabilitation, electrophysiology, general neurology, management of quality of life and cognitive issues related to epilepsy, stroke, encephalitis, and degenerative disorders. Dr. Weisman is an active member of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, Commonwealth Neurological Society, Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology Brain Trauma Foundation, and National Association for Healthcare Quality. He has medical privileges at Allegheny General, Allegheny Valley, and West Penn hospitals.
