St. Michael Lutheran Church serves 270 worshippers. Sunday school is very popular with the children, youth and adults participating. Diversity is the pride of St. Michael, as this upper to middle class congregation is often referred to as "the friendly church." At St. Michael, liturgy and music is taken from sources such as, the Lutheran Book of Worship, With One Voice, Evangelical Lutheran Worship and music libraries of GIA publications and Oregon Catholic Press. One of St. Michael's social concerns is with the growing needs of senior citizens on fixed incomes. St. Michael founded Lutheran Senior Services of Southern Chester County which provides affordable housing for senior citizens on a fixed income under $18,000 a year.
