Black Box Corporation was established in 1976 as a little company called Expandor. It started business by selling connectivity devices, such as the little black boxes that clients need to connect their primary data communications products. In 1977, the first Black Box catalog rolled off the presses. It was six pages long and contained nine products. The company changed the name to Black Box since a majority of the customers began calling the company by its catalog name. The company delivers premier communications solutions throughout the United States and Canada.
