The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is a large state-of-the-art mixed use performance space. It is best known for its Verizon Hall, being home to the Philadelphia Orchestra. Visitors can also see Broadway performances in addition to a variety of musical, dance and theatrical performances. There is also a rooftop garden that is open to the public.
Parking and public transportation to the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts
Parking is abundant at the Kimmel Center. There is metered street parking. In addition, there are two parking garages -- The Kimmel Center Garage plus The Avenue of the Arts garage located on 15th Street between Locust and Spruce Streets. Parking can be reserved online here for specific events.
The Broad Street-Orange Line subway stops one block north of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts at the Walnut-Locust stop.

The Kimmel Center offers a few choices for purchasing tickets for events. Tickets can be purchased daily at the box office, and they can also be purchased via the Kimmel Center's website. There are $10 'rush' tickets available for certain performances as well. Additional fees are added for certain performances.

The Kimmel Center hosts a variety of national music concerts including all genres of music from jazz to electronic dance music. It also hosts traveling Broadway shows in addition to international ballet performances and dance troupes.

If you want a nuts and bolts bar with a gritty, artsy crowd, go to McGlinchey's around the corner from the Kimmel Center. It is one of the oldest dive bars in Philadelphia, and people never realize there is an upstairs bar with seating, a pool table and a second juke box.
