The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired provides support services to the visually impaired. Its services include rehabilitation, employment support, computer and access technology training, psychological support, social skills training, transportation and community education. The center also provides orientation and mobility training that includes training in safety techniques, cane usage, street crossing, low vision devices and utilization of public transportation. Additionally, it offers independent living training that includes housekeeping, cooking, marking appliances, shopping, grooming, sewing, first aid, home repair and personal financial management. The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a nonprofit agency and offers services in the southeastern Pennsylvania area. The center is a member of the National Industries for the Blind. Its office is located in Chester, Pa.
