Built in 1844 by Judge Henry Chapman, this 17-room mansion is the birthplace of his grandson Henry Chapman Mercer. Later home to the James and Lorah families, a 1954 bequest to the Doylestown Village Improvement Assoc. by founding member Sarah M. James included the home, its furnishings, and the personal effects of two generations of residents. Open by appointment 215-348-2187.
