Recycling is one of the divisions of the public works department of the city of Erie, Pa. The division is funded by the Pennsylvania department of environmental protection. It offers a variety of waste recycling and collection services. The division provides recycling services for various items, such as used clothes, eyeglasses, toys, appliances, books, furniture and various other items. It also provides recycling services for newspapers and magazines, glass bottles and jars, cartons and bags, metal cans and plastic containers. The division offers compost and fall leaf collection services. It also offers telephonic information to city residents about waste collection schedules and recycling.
