The Douglass Township Police Department has been an accredited police department through the Pennsylvania Chief of Police Association since February 2003. At that time the Douglass Township Police Department was the second police department in Montgomery County and the fifth in the Commonwealth to accomplish this task. The accreditation process requires applying police departments to meet and adopt over 120 different standards of compliance.
