Founded in 1908 by the Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, DePaul School for Hearing and Speech provides auditory oral education services for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. The organization is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an approved private school. DePaul School for Hearing and Speech provides early invention programs through new funding initiatives and partnerships with regional early intervention provider agencies, including Achieva and The Alliance for Infants and Toddlers. It offers free home-based services for families in the Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania. The organization also coordinates preschool, kindergarten, and primary and middle school programs. DePaul School for Hearing and Speech provides a variety of clinical support services for families, including speech language pathology, audiological and cochlear implants, and physical and occupational therapies.
