Centre County Women's Resource Center provides services for people who have experienced domestic and sexual violence. The center provides a 24-hour rape and abuse help line, shelters for women and children who need a safe place to stay, and the bridge housing program, a transitional living program for families in need of long-term shelter. The center additionally offers assistance to persons who are seeking medical attention and legal services, including filing for protection from abuse orders and support during court proceedings. Its children's program includes counseling, support groups and advocacy for child survivors and witnesses of domestic and sexual violence. The center also provides prevention and education programs to schools, community groups and professionals. It provides various rural outreach and advocacy programs as well. Centre County Women's Resource Center is located in State College, Pa.
