The center provides customized programs to meet an individual's specific needs. It assesses the causes of weight problems, as well as determines its medical and psychological consequences. The Center for Weight and Eating Disorders Albert J. Stunkard Weight Management Program offers medically supervised weight loss programs for adult patients. The center is a member of the Institute for Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism (IDOM). It is a part of the Department of Psychiatry, which is located at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
