The Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission, incorporated in 1985, is a nonprofit charitable and educational institution that is responsible to implement tobacco control programs. The commission serves people in Carbon, Monroe and Pike counties in Pennsylvania. It works to eliminate nonsmokers exposure to tobacco smoke pollution. The Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission also administers the Driving Under the Influence Program. The commission manages a prevention and intervention services unit that is responsible for the reduction of the negative impact of drug abuse on individuals, families and communities. It owns and operates more than two outpatient treatment units that provide individual and group counseling services for people with substance abuse and dependency problems.
