Philadelphia Girls High School
The Philadelphia High School for Girls is a public, college preparatory school serving students from grades nine through 12. The school was founded in 1848 and offers a wide range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, social studies, music and fine arts. It also offers an International Baccalaureate diploma program, which includes courses in English, Spanish and French. It provides various courses in art, which include fine arts, music, band, orchestra, drama, chorus and theatre. The school also offers various sports activities, such as basketball, tennis, wrestling, soccer, softball and cheerleading sports. Its foreign language department offers courses in French, Spanish, Latin, German and Italian. In addition, its courses include a comprehensive study of cultures and ideas represented by the histories of various societies.
