HistoryUrban mommies was founded by Pittsburgh Resident Sheila Solomon in 2007. Sheila is a genetic counselor and mother of two little girls. Her goal was to give modern moms a chance to leave the house with their babies for a little fun and intellectual stimulation, as well as to connect with other women at the same stage of life.. In 2011 Jennie Pelled and Katie Whitlatch purchased the company from Shelia Solomon. Jennie and Katie know the mommy market firsthand. As modern moms themsevles, they are attune to the needs and desires of Pittsburgh moms.
