ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, assists people suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; advocates for ALS patients and caregivers; and supports research into the cause, cure and treatment of ALS. The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit organization that assists people suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The Greater Philadelphia Chapter provides support and resources for ALS patients, their families and caregivers living in the eastern half of Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. It offers comprehensive support and resources through the Lea R. Powell ALS Patient Services Program for patients diagnosed with ALS and their families and caregivers. The organization s programs include assistive technology, durable medical equipment loan program, transportation for patients, in-home care and professional services.
