Allegheny County Community has over 1.2 million residents and is home to a number of health care, educational and cultural institutions. Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., it has state-of-the-art technology, medical industries, an airport, a cultural district and a commitment to the environment, including reclaiming and redeveloping former industrial sites to turn into active economic and recreational uses. The county is home to organizations, such as the World Trade Center Pittsburgh, the Greater Pittsburgh World Trade Association, the Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors and the World Affairs Council. It also houses one of the first International Business Centers, located at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, which provides international business education and research as well as services to the regional business community. The Port Authority of Allegheny County is the 14th largest public transportation system in the United States.
