George Junior Republic
George Junior Republic, founded in 1909 and located in Grove City, Pa., is a privately owned, nonprofit organization that offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular programs to physically disabled students. Its curriculum includes English, art and crafts, vocational training, mathematics, science, social studies, fine and performing arts, and physical and health education. It provides residential programs that include general residential, special needs, diagnostic, drugs and alcohol, and community-based home programs. The institution also organizes sports activities, such as softball, baseball, athletics, cheerleading, football and cross-country. It additionally organizes various conferences, sports tournaments, awards ceremonies and after school classes. The school s parent-teacher association involves parents in educational and social activities of the school.
