History

Our ancestors settled at the mouth of the Delaware River about 1629. Our first American born grandfather was born across the River from what is now Philadelphia in 1637. They were Dutch Brethren. These Anabaptist Brethren in Holland were the birthing group for Amish, Mennonites, German Baptists and other plain groups. Working with horses has been a joy for us all my life. We opened for carriage rides at Plain and Fancy Farm, Bird In Hand, in 1992, having the privilege of introducing visitors from all over the world to our lovely Conestoga Valley and our life style.

DO NOT COME HERE There is nothing here but tobacco "used to be wheat" now soy bean and corn but there is a nice restaurant. They won't talk to you unless you start the conversation.
