History
YMA was founded in 1965 as a summer music camp on the Oregon Coast. In 1974, the program moved to the Willamette University campus in Salem, OR.
Specialties
Young Musicians & Artists (YMA) is Oregon's premiere summer residential arts program for students grades 4-12. YMA offers outstanding training in Orchestra, Band, Choir, Piano, Dance, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Digital Photography, Songwriting, Creative Writing and Visual Arts. YMA faculty are accomplished professionals in the arts and students have an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that nutures artistic endeavors, enhances self-esteem and sparks a life-long appreciation of the arts. Each of the two-week summer sessions is held on the campus of Willamette University in Salem. This is your year for YMA!
