The Probation and Parole Division works under the Oregon Department of Community Corrections and supervises more than 4,500 offenders. Its functions include the assessment of offenders potential to re-offend, development of plans to address offenders needs and risk to the community, contact with offenders, their families and therapists and intervention when offenders are not following the conditions of supervision. The division also recommends intervention to courts and parole boards. The Probation and Parole Division Community offers a range of community services that provide various sentencing alternatives to courts and local intermediate sanctions for felony offenders who fail to comply with the conditions of supervision. It is located in Hillsboro, Ore.
