HistoryNicholas and Ian have been friends since attending Sellwood Middle School in SE Portland. After high school, Nicholas went on to pursue a masters in vocal performance and Ian, a bachelors in mechanical engineering. They're education and careers took them all over the United States and occasionally Europe before returning to Portland in 2016. Nicholas made a career out of teaching voice and piano while still pursuing his performance career and Ian slowly burned out on engineering jobs. After many late night discussions they decided to create something of their own: a community of musicians that fostered education and musical exploration in their hometown. Once the location was found they set to work creating a beautiful space to play and an inclusive environment to learn. Lydian Music Studios officially opened in November of 2021 and continues to grow and learn just like its students.SpecialtiesLydian Music Studios offers high quality vocal instruction to all experience levels.
