History
Solace is the brainchild of Keith Crawford and David Odusanya, two former Nike executives whose experiences with the death of loved ones inspired them to apply their innovative, consumer-centric design expertise to the funeral industry. Their deep design and branding background has allowed them to reimagine the funeral industry and all aspects of the consumer experience. Solace launched in April of 2019 in the Portland metro area, serving Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties in Oregon and Clark county in Washington. It added the Seattle metro area, serving King, Pierce and Snohomish counties in Washington in October of 2019.
Specialties
Solace Cremation offers priority direct cremation at one transparent price without upsell. Solace's cremation service price is structured to be one inclusive price, not a starting price. What's the difference? Our one price includes everything you could need or want from a direct cremation service. The price never increases because we don't add fees or do any upselling. It's one price for everything. Unlike other direct cremation providers, we never charge more for things like the location of your loved one, priority cremation and hand delivery of remains. Our affordable price of $895 includes transportation, all necessary permits and fees, refrigeration, direct cremation, Solace Urn, return of remains in person or via USPS. What does priority direct cremation mean? The cremation of your loved one takes place without a viewing or funeral service beforehand and happens within two days following the receipt of required authorizations. Make arrangements online with our mobile-friendly arrangement process. Paperwork and secure electronic signatures can be completed from the comfort of your home. Our compassionate Solace Care team is available 24/7 via phone, email and chat for concierge-level support. We're here for you. Our price is over $1,400 less than the national average of $2,300 for a direct cremation (per the NFDA - National Funeral Directors Association). Unlike the majority of funeral industry providers, we do not have a starting price and surcharge model.
