History
Established in 1984 as a (501(c)(3) non-profit agency, Open Door Counseling Center, (formerly Housing Services of Oregon), began when Verla Fuller started a program to help provide rural families with food, clothing and other essential items. Verla Fuller continued to grow Open Door by making a long-term commitment to serve low and moderate income people in need of practical housing, education and life skills training. Today, Open Door serves the community in a variety of ways, in addition to our homeless center.
