Located in John Day, Ore., Malheur Lumber Company began its operations in December of 1983. Malheur Lumber Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ochoco Lumber Company in Prineville, Ore. Malheur Lumber Company fabricates more than 40 million board feet of Ponderosa Pine products annually. Production facilities consist of a sawmill, dry kiln, planing mill and shipping center. Customer specifications can be met throughout the manufacturing, packaging and shipping process. Ochoco Lumber Company was established in 1938. In 1983, Ochoco Lumber Company began its expansion program and acquired Malhuer Lumber Company.
